The lights of the Huizhou Olympic Stadium blazed brightly, filled with laughter and cheers, as the “Celebrating and Welcoming National Day” gala of the Huizhou Public Security System was solemnly held here under the theme “Raising the Sword of the East River to Showcase Heroic Spirit, Ensuring Peace and Security for the People’s City.” City leaders Huang Yebin, Chen Shiqi, Huang Shifang, Li Dawen, Lin Tianhao, Yang Meilin, Deng Qingzhong, and Xu WanHong, along with heads of the Political Department of the Provincial Public Security Department and relevant municipal departments, joined more than 6,000 public security officers, armed police, border defense personnel, firefighters, and their families in watching the performance and jointly celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day. The gala opened with the grand dance “Soul.” Divided into three main sections—“Forging Swords with Inspiration,” “Guardians’ Devotion,” and “Looking Ahead”—the program featured entirely self-written, self-directed, and self-performed acts by public security officers, armed police, and their families, showcasing the spirit and achievements of today’s public security personnel and armed police through song and dance, solo performances, rhythmic clapper talks, and situational dramas. The musical drama “The Heroic Team” told the inspiring stories of fallen officers Gao Jian and Du YuHua, as well as Zheng Guoqiang, the first recipient of the “Top Ten Guardians of South Guangdong” award, striking a deep chord with the audience. During the gala, a swearing-in ceremony for new recruits was also held. Li Dawen, a member of the Municipal Party Committee Standing Committee, Secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Commission, and Director of the Municipal Public Security Bureau, presented the “East River Sword” banner to the newly enlisted public security officers, urging them to be courageous, take responsibility, and serve as the backbone of the people. At the conclusion of the gala, all 6,000-plus attendees—police and civilians alike—joined in singing the “Song of the East River Sword” in unison.
